Our Parish
Welcome to the Resurrection Greek Orthodox Church! Our vision and mission is To Bring People Closer to God, by witnessing, proclaiming, and growing our Orthodox Christian Faith and the Gospel of Jesus Christ through liturgy, ministries, community, and family. Our parish community consists of over 200 faithful families (stewards) who make up the body of Christ in worship. Our community is unique to the East Bay area because of its multi-ethnic background, and its small size (compared to other Greek Orthodox churches in the surrounding area). Vision, Mission, and Core Values
Father Niko Bekris outlined his vision for the parish’s future when he arrived at Resurrection in February 2016. At that time, a small group of leaders developed our Vision and Mission "To Bring People Closer to God, by witnessing, proclaiming, and growing our Orthodox Christian Faith and the Gospel of Jesus Christ through liturgy, ministries, community, and family." It wasn't until 2022 that we developed our Core Values.
Core Values are guiding principles foundational to who we are and what’s most important to us. They convey our beliefs (who we say God is), guide our identity (who we say we are), our activity (how we do what we do), and how we interact together (teamwork). They are the guidelines for how we behave and treat one another.
